Hadoop has become the poster child for "Big Data" and is at the heart of a large and ever-growing open source ecosystem. The Fedora Big Data SIG is undertaking to adapt the current Maven-based Java project to conform to Fedora Packaging Guidelines. This presentation will discuss the background and challenges of this initiative along with an update on current progress.
